Preferred .scn

What is a ".scn"?
The ".scn" file is what tells ZT when to make the object available.

".scn" files are found in a freeform folder within the ".ztd".

Throughout these areas you will see we have listed a Preferred .scn: or Preferred scn (because already released):.

Although the ".scn" file could be any name that begins with "unlock", I recommend using "unlock", followed by the object name without spaces and using lower case letters, followed by ".scn". The reason for this recommendation is to be more efficient when there are more than 1 user made ".ztd" using the same object name. Since they will all use the same name, ZT does not have to read all of the ".scn" files for them. This is especially true for people that combine ".ztd" files. In some cases, something was released with a ".scn" that does not follow this recommendation. We will continue to use those in order to reduce the number of files for those that combine ".ztd" files. For those, Preferred scn (because already released): is shown. Otherwise, Preferred .scn: is shown.

bldg-XXXX.cfg

The ".cfg" file is what tells ZT where the characteristics for the building will be. Although the ".cfg" file could have any name that begins with "bldg", I recommend using "bldg-", followed by your ".ztd" name without the ".ztd" and without spaces and using lower case letters, followed by ".cfg". The reason for this recommendation is to reduce the chance of conflicting with someone else's ".cfg" name, since there cannot be 2 ".ztd" files in the same folder at the same time. The file should be created in the same folder that contains the objects and scenery folders.

Throughout the areas showing message ids, you will also find the existing ".cfg" names that refer to that message id. All ".cfg" names, including new ones, must be different.
